Shikha Rajput is a Textile Designer who currently lives in the UK. Her work represents a dynamic fusion of Indian heritage and contemporary techniques, grounded in a deep respect for tradition while driven by a desire to disrupt and innovate. Originally beginning her academic journey in Biotechnology, she shifted her path to textile design, her strong creative instincts have guided her towards a unique path where instinct, emotion, and intellect converge through fabric. Her practice is rooted in slow textile printing methods, celebrating heritage techniques of fabric manipulation while embracing minimal digital intervention establishing a niche defined by authenticity, tactility, and timeless craftsmanship.
With experience spanning international collaborations, exhibitions, and industry projects, Shikha has showcased her work at Africa Fashion Week London, led immersive exhibition design at Soboye Reimagined for Winchester School of Art, and contributed to fabric design at Amanda Kelly Ltd. in London. She has also partnered with artisans to bring her Ajrakh-inspired collection to life, designing exclusive prints for Khinkhwab Design Studio, blending tradition with contemporary design. Even in the face of global challenges, she remained resilient, mastering new techniques during the pandemic and proving that creativity thrives in constraint. Her work today reflects a deep commitment to innovation, craft, and the emotional power of textiles.
